2 Collection and Processing of Personal Data

a) When Visiting Our Website

When you visit our website, certain data is automatically transmitted by your browser to our server. This includes, among other things:

  • Your IP address
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Type and version of the browser used
  • Your operating system and, if applicable, your internet service provider

This data is processed for technical reasons to enable the use of the website, ensure system security, and optimize the website. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

b) Use of the Contact Form

If you use our contact form, the data you provide (e.g., name, email address, and message) will be processed to respond to your inquiry. The processing is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or, if it concerns contractual matters, on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

c) Communication via Email

If you contact us by email, we will store your information to process your inquiry. Here, too, the processing is based either on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) or on contractual necessity (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

d) Use of the TDU NRW e.V. App

Our members have the opportunity to use a mobile application (“App”) provided by us to access association information and events. When using the app, the following personal data may be processed:

  • Name and membership number
  • Email address
  • Login data (e.g., username, password)
  • Information on attended events
  • App usage behavior

This data is processed to provide the app’s functionalities and optimize our offering. The processing is based on our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR or to fulfill the membership contract according to Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. We do not use location-based services unless the user has explicitly consented (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). The app does not process sensitive personal data.

e) Event Registrations

If you register for one of our events (e.g., networking meetings or seminars), your personal data will be collected for the purpose of organizing and conducting the event. If you register accompanying persons, the legal basis is our legitimate interest according to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data will be stored after the event in accordance with legal retention obligations and then deleted.

f) Photo and Video Recordings

At our events, photo and video recordings may be made that are used for association communication and public relations purposes. If you wish to object to such use, you can contact us at any time (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

3 Disclosure of Data to Third Parties

We do not generally disclose your personal data to third parties unless this is necessary to:

  • Fulfill a legal obligation (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR)
  • Fulfill contractual obligations (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR)
  • Safeguard our legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), provided that your interests do not outweigh our interests
  • If you have explicitly consented (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR)
